Decks & Walkways

Cedar Deck

This was a returning client. We installed a beautiful french door last year and she was so happy she asked us to build a deck off the new french door that supports a hot tub. We built a multi-level deck with cedar.

Deck

We overhauled a run down deck by removing dry rot, installing new block supports and re-bracing, installing new deck boards where required, and re-staining.

Quad Deck

Island Home Repair built a deck in a beautiful beach home courtyard which had a deck and hot tub that was totally rotten. We removed all the dry rot and built a new composite deck in its place.

Cedar Deck

We tore down a rotten deck and rebuilt it out of cedar

French Drain

This client had several issues we helped her resolve including a rotten landing and stairs, winter flooding in her daylight basement, and a walkway cracked from tree roots.

Wind, Dry Rot & Mud

This client had several issues we helped her resolve including wind storm damage, dryrot, and a ramp leading under the stairs where it would get muddy in the winter.

Sunlight Beach Cabin

We leveled and updated an old Whidbey Island beach cabin, re-structuring the floor joists, building a new deck, residing a portion of the cabin, and installing new doors and windows. The new deck was constructed with hand dipped cedar attached to the joists with hidden fasteners, which make for a more beautiful and longer lasting deck.

K-9 Fence

A returning client needed a fence built on their property to contain a new canine member of the family who they rescued from the local shelter. The fence runs roughly 200 LF with 4X4 posts spaced 8' on center with 3 gates. The posts are installed 24" in the ground with 2 bags of concrete per post. The fence is built to last and survive Whidbeys winter storms.

4 Decks

A bank owned home needed to have it's decks/porches spruced up. Island Home Repair stripped and refinished all 4 decks.

New Trex Deck

We removed a deck and installed a new trex deck in its place. We poured proper footings to support the deck which was supported with pier blocks and sagged

Cedar Deck Replacement

A couple of years ago Island Home Repair repaired a cedar deck and refinished. As is the case with cedar decks they need maintenance every year or two and this home owner decided it was time for a change. She decided to replace the cedar decking with composite decking by Timber Tech.

We removed the 5/4" cedar decking and installed the new composite one. Because the new decking weighs twice as much as the wood one, we had to restructure the deck support structure as well. We replaced the concrete pier pads with real footing 24" deep concrete pads. We replaced all the posts and replaced a warped beam and painted.
